Anatol Rapoport Dies at 95
Is this a game or is it real? Like many others, I learned about Anatol Rapoport through the Evolution of Cooperation. My friend Sam lent me his copy back in '97 or '98. It was the first book that helped me understand human behavior and now I can't imagine understanding things or even how to play poker without Rapoport's insight. Here's the notice in The Michigan Daily and here's a nice blog post and one from Crooked Timber.

Cool.
The easy part: The book is on its way to me from Amazon.
The hard part: It now has to brave my reading queue!

I finished The Evolution of Cooperation a couple of weeks ago, and it was eye-opening.
I think a lot of our interactions suffer because they're not sufficiently iterated. See: traffic. Ugh. I've been trying to project a somewhat artificial sense of iteration to my traffic behavior by thinking about my traffic-related interactions with the collective other. I'm not sure how well it's working though.
